Parents and the home environment have a great influence on the kids. They influence the choices children to make in their lives. A survey was conducted and it was found that children have high chances of following in the footsteps of their parents. A doctor’s child is more likely to be a doctor, an engineer’s child is more likely to be an engineer, a nurse’s child has higher chances of becoming a nurse. Kids see their parents as their role models and try to be like them. But if the children take a different path, it’s perfectly alright! Parents, relatives, and society should stop fretting over it.

If a doctor’s child wants to be an engineer, it’s okay! If a lawyer’s offspring wants to be a designer, that’s okay! If a businessman’s child wants to be a doctor, that’s alright!
What’s wrong if children choose a different profession than their parents?

What we need to realise is that our kids are different individuals. They have their own goals, their own interests, their own dreams. We can not forcibly impose our own choices or preferences on them. A doctor saying that he wants to see his son seated in his chair is absurd. You wanted to be a doctor, and you had your lifetime to be one. Don’t pass on your ambitions to your children unless they also want the same.

Even if you succeed in crushing their dreams and use them to turn your dreams into a reality, you won’t see your kids happy. You ‘ll be cursed by them for life. Your children’s life was spent fulfilling your dreams, then what about their dreams? When would they pursue their passion?

Set your children free. Help them unleash their potential. Let them be who they really are, let them become whatever they want to be.
