Children Should Never Be Educated At Home By Their Parents

As soon as a child grows 2-3 years old, he/she is sent to school to start education and sometimes parents take homeschooling. But, there is a big but to this, homeschooling is not for everyone. Every education system provides great opportunities to learn new skills for children and homeschooling is not much different from private or public schools and hence, has its pros and cons.

When a parent decides to provide homeschooling to his/her child, he/ she has to take on the responsibilities of a teacher and an administrator. These responsibilities add to the responsibilities of a parent. If you are a single parent, you have to accept the fact that by dedicating more time to teach your child, your income is surely going to suffer a loss. You ‘ll have to manage your time carefully since you’ll be dedicating more time to homeschooling, daily errands and typical household chores will need to be scheduled in coordination with your homeschooling plan. Family’s lifestyle and the pace is bound to change, since children are going to be at home all day long and all the schooling is going to take place at home itself. You are going to spend more time with your children than you do currently, leaving you less time for yourself.

The homeschool environment is definitely different from the school’s environment. The main reason why parents decide to homeschool their children is that they do not want their children to face bullying. They do not want their children’s values to be decided by their peers or face any kind of peer pressure to fit-in’ or achieve any kind of social status among their classmates. Sometimes students are homeschooled because their athletic and artistic talents keep them engaged at a higher level. More real-life experiences and better learning is involved because of the flexible nature and one-on-one focus of homeschooling. If your child is having difficulty in learning some subject, he/she doesn’t have to skip it and move on. he/she can work on that until he/she has properly learned that. Homeschooling children move at a faster pace than their school-going peers as they don’t have to repeat lessons. It also helps parents in building stronger relationships with their children. Vacations and other activities can be used as a part of homeschool curriculum.

While homeschooling is beneficial for your child, it can be stressful for you to take parenting and a teacher’s responsibilities. Children who are homeschooled have smaller circles and interact less with their peers. They might face difficulties later when they have to move out of their homes for higher education.

Every angel has to be considered by parents before making a decision about what is best for the child.
