In many countries, there is a rapid increase in the number of people who receive long-term disability payments. This also raises the question that whether it is possible for them to return to gainful employment. After analysing the report of disability reform in the Netherlands, they come to conclude that long-term recipients of disability insurance were on average able to replace about sixty percent of lost benefits with labor income.
