Native-Like Full Explanation Example – PTE Exam Speaking Pronunciation

First of all, in order to get five marks your pronunciation – you should be native-like. Just keep in mind few thing –

Example –

“All vowels and consonants are produced in a manner that is easily understood by a regular speaker of the language. The speaker uses assimilation and deletions appropriate to continuous speech. Stress is placed correctly in all words and sentence-level stress is fully appropriate.”

Meaning –

Assimilation means you are just used to the language and deletion means you are deleting some part of the word while talking. Don’t get confused in assimilation and deletion just make sure it is easily understood as a regular speaker.

Stress is placed correctly –

Make sure you just put some of the stress on “important words” just like when you read the sentence – Stress is placed correctly in all words and sentence-level stress is fully appropriate. In this sentence, stress on words like “Stress”, “Correctly”, “sentence-level”. Red-highlighted words in the above paragraph are those which will be given importance.

Place the stress on correct words means you should avoid giving stress on “is”, “in” or “and”. So make sure you are placing the stress on correct words and on important words instead of “is”, “in” or “all” and words like these.

I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s equally educative and amusing, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problem is something that not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy I stumbled across this in my hunt for something concerning this.
